Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be connected by rail

by Cristian Florescu

Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina need to be connected to a railway system very quickly. Said Minister of Transport in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vojin Mitrovic during a visit to Montenegro, write tiranapost.al.

“One of the topics of discussion at the meeting was the issue of connecting the countries of the Western Balkans, first through roads, and then through railways,” he said.

Mitrovic said that the purpose of the Adriatic-Ionian highway is to connect Italy by land with the Balkans, through Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania and Greece.

He also added that negotiations have begun, but are taking a long time.

Recall that in September, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, said at the Belgrade Railway Summit that Albania would be connected to Montenegro, through the railway line, but the implementation of projects needed additional capacity.
