BiH Minister of Justice meets with the Head of the EU Delegation in BiH

The Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Davor Bunoza, spoke with the Special Representative of the European Union in BiH and the Head of the EU Delegation in BiH, Johann Sattler, about BiH’s European path, the current situation regarding the judicial reform process, the improvement and strengthening the rule of law and public administration and other work priorities.

The individuals involved in the discussion agreed that it is a priority to align the legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with that of the European Union. In this regard, particular focus is given to the following laws: the Law on Conflict of Interest in Government Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Law on Courts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Law on Freedom of Access to Information in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Law on State service in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BiH’s Minister of Justice, Alija Bunoza, expressed his satisfaction with the country’s progress towards European Union membership. He emphasized the need for the Ministry of Justice to continue working hard to achieve further progress in the coming years.

Different opinions and pieces of information were shared about what potential legal solutions could be used to address key issues, and it was noted that the Ministry of Justice of BiH should make more significant efforts in this area. The support that BiH receives from the European Union and member states was seen as positive and helpful, with the hope that cooperation will continue to improve in the future.

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that Sattler congratulated Minister Bunoza on his appointment and wished him success in his work and the achievement of common goals that will ensure the overall progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
