The European Union has allocated €70 million from its energy support package for Bosnia and Herzegovina, with most of the money going to help vulnerable families and help companies improve their energy efficiency. The EU envoy in the country, Harry Wilson, said on Wednesday that the funds would be disbursed over the next two months.
“Of the €70 million available to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the Energy Support Package, 50 million will be available at the end of this month and at the beginning of next month to help the most vulnerable families facing high prices,” Johann Sattler, the head of the EU delegation, said in the southern city of Mostar.
“The remaining twenty million will be spent on micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and households to improve energy efficiency,” Sattler explained.
He specified that this could benefit some 400 companies, but also around 4,000 buildings that should be renovated.
