The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, concluded his official visit to Tokyo by attending a high-level presentation dedicated to Serbia’s investment opportunities before Japanese business leaders. The event gathered numerous company representatives, alongside Serbian officials such as Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarević, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Čadež, Director of the Office for IT and e-Government Mihailo Jovanović, Minister of Science and Technological Development Bela Balint, Ambassador of Serbia to Japan Aleksandra Kovač, and the President’s Advisor for Investments Danilo Cicmil.
Meeting with Toyo Tires
During his stay, Vučić also held talks with the management of Toyo Tires, focusing on past cooperation and the strengthening of the company’s presence in Serbia. On his Instagram account “buducnostsrbijeav”, he underlined that Toyo’s decision to establish its first European factory in Inđija was a sign of trust and commitment.
“We also discussed the establishment of a research and development centre and the potential expansion of production capacities, in order to meet the growing demand on the European and American markets, despite the challenges posed by new trade barriers,” Vučić noted, emphasising that Serbia will ensure stable conditions and predictable access to strategic markets.
Serbia as a Reliable Investment Destination
In his address to Japanese partners, the President stressed that Serbia stands out as a competitive and reliable location for industrial and technological projects. He highlighted the country’s skilled workforce, modern infrastructure, attractive investment incentives, and access to global markets through free trade agreements.
“In the past year, we recorded a record inflow of foreign direct investments, proof that international investors recognise Serbia’s stability and clear economic policy,” Vučić affirmed.
Currently, more than 30 Japanese companies from the automotive, electrical, and manufacturing industries operate in Serbia, a number the authorities aim to expand further.
Strengthening Strategic Partnerships
The President expressed his gratitude for Japan’s continued confidence and support, inviting more companies to view Serbia as their European base for production, development, and export of high-value products.
“Serbia is ready to build long-term partnerships that benefit both our citizens and international investors. We will continue to advance business conditions, safeguard access to markets, and encourage innovation,” Vučić concluded.
