Greece achieved the greatest drop in unemployment in Europe, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in Parliament on Wednesday, during a discussion on an employment bill called “Jobs Again”, ANA reports.
Unemployment is the greatest threat, he noted, the government is facing since coming to power. “Despite great obstacles, data shows that our efforts are paying off: from the summer of 2019 to February 2022, unemployment dropped from 17.2% to 12.8%. It’s the greatest drop in Europe, and means that over 200,000 new jobs were created and we surpassed the landmark of 4 million employed.”
