Serbia’s priorities are investments in infrastructure and the Green Agenda, with the aim of developing the productivity of the economy and innovations, and the continuation of the development of artificial intelligence, where we are already cooperating with the World Bank (WB), said Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic at a meeting with World Bank Country Director for the Western Balkans Xiaoqing Yu.
Brnabic and Yu discussed further cooperation between Serbia and this international financial organization in different areas, from energy to digitalization, said a Serbian Government press release.
Commenting on priorities, Brnabic said that the challenges that the country faced with the coronavirus pandemic have been successfully overcome, but that new ones have emerged that require close cooperation with the World Bank.
“Serbia is the regional leader in many areas, first and foremost in the IT sector and investments, and we will maintain that continuity,” the press release quoted Brnabic as saying.
Xiaoqing Yu told the Prime Minister that the biggest WB program in the Western Balkans has agreed with Belgrade and presented a new cooperation framework for 2026 and plans for budget support for this and next year, said the press release.
