According to the finance ministry, Serbia’s budget experienced a surplus of 37 billion dinars ($340.9/315.7 million euro) during the initial seven months of 2023, in contrast to a surplus of 1.15 billion dinars during the same period in 2022.
According to a statement from the finance ministry, the total revenue of the budget increased by 9.7% in real terms to reach 1.089 billion dinars during the period being analyzed. Additionally, expenditures saw a 5.9% rise, reaching 1.051 billion dinars.
During the period of January-July 2023, there was a significant increase in tax revenues, with a real growth rate of 7.8% compared to the previous year, amounting to 967.8 billion dinars. Additionally, non-tax revenues experienced a rise of 8%, reaching 96.1 billion dinars. Furthermore, grants witnessed a substantial surge, reaching 25.1 billion dinars, a notable increase from the 6 billion dinars recorded during the same period in 2022.
In the month of July, Serbia’s budget recorded a surplus of 23.1 billion dinars, following a surplus of 49.3 billion dinars in the preceding month of June.
By the conclusion of 2022, Serbia’s consolidated budget exhibited a deficit amounting to 235.2 billion dinars.
