Serbia’s budget was in surplus of 1.15 billion dinars ($9.7 million/9.8 million euro) in the first seven months of 2022, compared to a 39.6 billion dinars deficit recorded in the same period in 2021, the finance ministry said.
Budget revenue came in at 992.8 billion dinars in the first seven months through July, which represents an annual increase of 17.5%, while expenditures amounted to 991.7 billion dinars, up 12% on the like period a year earlier, the finance ministry said in a data release on Monday.
Tax revenues totalled 897.8 billion dinars, up from 750.1 billion dinars in the January-July period of last year.
VAT revenues amounted to over 457.5 billion dinars in the seven months through July. Non-tax revenues came in at 89 billion dinars, slightly up from 86.3 billion dinars in the same period last year.
Current expenditures totalled 786 billion dinars in the review period, up 4.7% from the same period in 2021, while capital expenditures amounted to 184.2 billion dinars.
In July alone, Serbia’s budget was in a surplus of 36.8 billion dinars.
