Serbia to invest 5.5 mln euro in Lower Danube tourism infrastructure

by Cristian Florescu

Serbia’s government will invest 636 million dinars ($6 million/5.5 million euro) in four projects aimed at improving the tourism infrastructure in the Lower Danube region, it said

The funds will be used for the construction of a sports and recreation centre with a campsite in Kovin and a bicycle lane along the Danube embankment from Vracevo Gaj to Stara Palanka in the Bela Crkva municipality. This will provide much-needed recreational and transportation infrastructure for the community.

The government is planning to build a bicycle-pedestrian zone from Ram Fortress to Silver Lake and renovate the sports and recreation complex along the Novi Sad quay. This will provide a safe and enjoyable space for people to exercise and spend time outdoors.
