In the medium term, the central bank expects gross domestic product (GDP) growth within the 4%-5% range, which will facilitate Serbia’s further convergence with EU countries, the central bank said in a statement on Tuesday.
In a flash estimate earlier this month, Serbia’s statistical office said the country’s economic output grew by a real 7.4% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2021. Serbia’s GDP went up by a real 13.7% year-on-year in the second quarter after rising by 1.7% in the first quarter.
In the November edition of its Regional Economic Prospects report, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said that Serbia’s GDP is expected to increase by 6.5% in 2021 backed by a strong expansion of exports and industry.
