The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated at the congress of the Socialist Party of Serbia that this party and his Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) are united in protecting the interests of Serbia.
Vucic said that Serbia’s Western partners claim that Pristina de-escalated the situation. However, members of the Kosovo Security Forces had previously been engaged with long-barrel firearms and many Serbs had been arrested.
Speaking about Rada Trajkovic, adviser to Kosovo’s Minister of Communities and Returns, Vucic said that foreigners called all day long on Friday and said that it was a terrible mistake and that „Kurti’s adviser or someone who represents their interests, and not the interests of their country and their people“ waited at the administrative crossing for two hours.
He pointed out that Serbia needs to be even wiser, stronger, and as united as possible, which is why he is counting on SPS.
Vucic said the people of Kosovo know that March 17, 2004, will not happen again and emphasized that Serbia respects Bosnia and Herzegovina but will take care of the Serbs there.
