The President of Republika Srpska has submitted an Indictment against the Prosecutor

by Cristian Florescu

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, respectfully lodged a criminal complaint against Nedim Ćosić, the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Banja Luka, specifically in the Special Department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic for the Suppression of Corruption, Organized and the Most Serious Forms of Economic Crime.

“I filed the criminal complaint because Nedim Ćosić filed an indictment for, as stated, the crime of not executing the High Representative’s decisions,” Dodik wrote on the social network “X”.

According to Dodik, Ćosić’s decision was potentially unlawful and may have had negative consequences for the institution of the President of the Republika Srpska, as well as for Miloš Lukić, the acting director of the Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska.

Dodik politely pointed out that as a result, he had committed the criminal offence of violating the law as stated in Article 346, as well as abusing his official position or authority as stated in Article 315 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska.

On Friday, August 11, an indictment was filed by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Milorad Dodik, the President of the Republika Srpska, and Miloš Lukić, the acting director of the Official Messenger of the Republic of Srpska. This was due to their alleged failure to implement the decisions of Christian Schmidt, the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The indictment has now been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
